I don't care who you are, tornadoes are scary! And I was SO scared on Tuesday at school.
There were a bunch of massive storms in our area so right after lunch, our guidance counselor dismissed us to the hallways. Not class. The hallways. Alyssa and I were terrified.
At first they just had us sit with our backs against the walls which is when Liz, Caitlin, Alyssa, and I started praying that our school and everyone in it would be safe. Then, the teachers made us sit facing the wall. We never had to officially get in tornado position but if the storms had gotten any closer, we probably would have.
There were about 5 tornado touchdowns reported. In our area, it was mainly wind and rotation in the clouds but nothing too serious. But the wind was actually strong enough that it knocked about 4 or 5 train cars over. I saw it. Scary.
I'm just glad that God kept our school and everyone in it safe!!
I hope that I never have to go through it again.
Bekah, it makes me proud to know that you and your friends prayed during that time. God was really watching over you. He kept us all safe.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if they got in your area. I had friends at IWU reporting about being in the banquet hall (which I don't understand, since one whole side is pure glass).
