Seeing as though I never followed through with my June Photo A Day, I figured that an update would be in order. I am studying for my permit. Not my permit to carry a weapon, a building permit, or anything else except for my driver's permit. Yes, folks, in a few short months I will be on the open road with nothing but a pair of shades and parent in the passenger seat.... It sounded good while it lasted. I am learning that driving is not so easy. I have trouble with a lot of the signs and even made flashcards for some of them while I was still awake at 12:30 yesterday morning. I am also doubting my ability to be able to apply these learned things to "real life." I know, I know. The key to being a good driver is being a confident one. But can I really be confident if I don't know the difference between an interstate and a highway? Doubtful. I work now. I'm a productive member of society. I mentor and guide young children in the right direction while their parents are away at work (also being productive members of society) so that they may have better lives now and better futures tomorrow. But seriously, I work at a day care. The kids are cute, my fellow employees are fabulous, and I get paid. Always a bonus when you have multiple friends asking you to go to the mall with them. Okay, so one friend, but it still counts. I also need to save up for a laptop since I didn't receive one like I was supposed to for my birthday. I need money for college, a car, gas, and possibly a plane ticket to Colorado to visit my cousin. Pray that I find twenty dollars on the street every day for the next 7 years. The family vacation. Starting thursday I will be packing my little self into the front seat of our van for 10-12 hours. Awesome. On the bright side, that will lead us to our favorite family campground with a lake and lots of time to fish. The downside, I'm the only child. (This is the one time I will refer to myself as a child.) I will be with my aunts and uncles talking to my parents about "the good ole days." (No offense, Pops.) Needless to say, I'm not exactly looking forward to this trip. Oh my goodness. Volleyball. This is seriously my life: get up, eat breakfast, eat lunch, go to work, go to volleyball. Sounds fun, right? It would be if we didn't have to do one minute and forty-five seconds worth of wall sits. But I can't really complain since I missed the ab-workout because i was at work. I just wish tryouts were sooner than the end of July. I don't enjoy all this nonsense currently. Hmm. It's almost 12:30 AM again. Bed? Maybe. I'll decide in five minutes. Goodnight all.

Okay, so it's not on my plate. But I am eating them. So essentially, my hand is my plate.... I guess?

Day 2: Empty.

Despite the looks of the inside of our fridge, it's always empty. Even when it is filled to its capacity with food, I find no fulfillment. Sorry Mom and Dad.

Let's Attempt This.

Well. In an effort to make myself blog more, I am going to attempt the June Photo-A-Day challenge. This could be quite interesting. Day 1: Morning.

This is a picture of my friend, Liz and I. We were on a plane getting ready to go to Galveston, Texas for Spring Break. It was about 10 in the morning and we were tired, yet quite hyper. I shall continue this adventure tomorrow.

On School and Such.

Oh my. Well, as 9th grade is coming to a close, I supposed I should be giving an update of some sort. I'm not ready for school to end. I don't really want it to be summer (except for the fact that Sarah, Adam, and Micah are coming to Indiana). Summer requires that lack of communication between my best friends and I. That just will not do. Enough of the rambling! Let us get to the important things in school. World History: I think my teacher has a weird sense of humor. He locked me as well as six others in a closet to show us what it was like to be a Jew during the Holocaust. Mr. Koos questioned our willingness to follow and why we didn't resist. Apparently that is a frequently asked question about the Holocaust. Either way, the closet was cramped. Geometry: I don't need that in real life. I don't care who says I might someday. I am going to be a dental hygientist and do not need to find the volume of a tooth. Angles are also going to be pointless in my profession. No me gusta la clase de matematicas. Physical Education: GYM! :) Oh how I enjoy myself in that class. One of my best friends is in there with me and we laugh. A lot. There is also another girl that we met this year that is quite funny. She makes my days better and more enjoyable because of her bluntness. Lunch: A.K.A. The only time of the day where i can spend quality with my friends whom I do not see in class. Or the ones who sit on the opposite side of the room because other teachers spread the rumor that we are "chatty." Honors English: Yes. The 'honors' part is very important. It's going well. Nothing to complain about, yet nothing especially fantastic except for the student teacher. She's super great! She graduated from Homestead (ahem, sister.) and is very funny. This year, we have read: The Count of Monte Cristo, Of Mice and Men, The Odyssey, Romeo and Juliet, and we will be reading Night. Fabulous, I know. Careers: I have a certain grudge towards that class. The teacher is old to say the least. He has two hearing aids and still can't hear a word you say. Of course, he blames it on other sounds in the room, but the room tends to be pretty silent... Spanish: Ah, me gusta mucho la clase de espanol. Es muy facil. Senora es muuuuy graciosa y simpatica. Me gusta voy a ir a la clase de espanol porque los estudiantes en mi clase son graciosos, divertidos, y inteligentes. Pues, son inteligentes mas o menos. La clase de espanol es mas interesante que geometria. Okay, so I'm not sure how well I did on that but at least I learned something. Biology: Sadly, I really do need this in my life. It's not too bad. Sometimes, it's just hard to wrap my head around it. I have a good teacher, which helps. I've just never really been a science person. Yepp. That sums that up. I learned recently that now I must put all of my athletic efforts into volleyball. We were unable to get a softball team in Ohio and therefore, I have a free summer. I almost cried. Anway, I hope all is well with everyone else and may your lives be filled with grace and happiness as summer creeps about.

Not really sure about this whole High School thing... I miss being young and having times like these. :(

Well everyone, happy new year! I hope you all rang in the new year with your loved ones. It seems the world is pressing for all to have a resolution so I came up with one. It is simply to exercise. Yes, exercise. Staying fit has become very important to me recently and I would love to keep it going!

Actually my night wasn't that bad. But clowns really are scary. Alyssa and I had lots of fun with her brother, aunt, and uncle! I'm just never going back there again.

Tomorrow (:

Tomorrow is the day that everything will happen. Well, not everything. Just a lot.

I have the privalige of going to the Haunted Castle and Black Forest with my best friend, Alyssa Garver. We're 95% sure that we will either die or pee our pants. Probably pee. Oh well! Afterwards, we are going to a party at our friend's house. It will be a greaaaaat night. (:

Just started school. Well, I started a week and a half ago. And it feels longer than that. So essentially, I've been in school awhile.

Volleyball season is going well considering we're 2 and 2.

I got a new phone.

All is well.

Grampie

Strong.

There's no other way to explain him. He was strong. Head strong. Mentally strong. Emotionally strong. Strong til the end.

When I look back, I wish I had gotten the chance to be with him more. I think, "Why didn't I go with Dad?" or "Why didn't I ask to make a special weekend trip?" My problem was that I was too absorbed in the now. Myself, my friends, my weekends. I feel absolutly terrible that I didn't give up one Friday-Saturday combo to go see the man who saw the good in me even when I failed to see it in myself.

He never forgot about my grades or my sports. Grampie knew that I loved both and that nothing could stop me from achieving the best I could achieve. That's why it's hard for me to go to volleyball tryouts next week. Dad reminded me that Grampie would say, "Go do what you love." He knows/knew how much I loved things like sports. He saw my love for much and would not let me miss them if the world was on fire and dinosaurs were eating everyone. He'd want me in the gym or on the field.

In it is my greatest of regrets that I end this post saying: I miss and love you so much, Grampie. So much.

Home again. Yay.

It's officially 3 days until we leave for the fabulous San Diego, California. Today, I'm actually skipping a party to pack. You see that, Sarah?! You, Adam, and Micah are very special.


It better be warm out there.

Goodbye, Junior High.

Today was my official last day of junior high. I am a freshman. The saddest part is, our school will no longer look the same. They are putting up a couple walls and probably building on a little to make room for the 4-6 graders.

30 Hour Famine

I just got home from doing a 30 hour famine at my friend's church. 30 hours you say? Ahh, yes. It actually wasn't that hard though. We drank powerade and water the whole time and tried not to think of the deliciousness that awaited us at 6. It was worth doing and i hope to do it again sometime!

Today was Quite Intrigueing.

Haha. Just kidding. I had to take half of the state test today, missed first and second period, and have many of my friends fighting with each other. And to top it off, I learned something complicated in math today. *sigh* School.

Tomorrow we start our ping-pong tournament in gym &&Caitlin and I are looking forward to getting out in the first round and watching everyone else play. We're terrible at ping-pong... (:
